Job Responsibilities
As an Analog Layout Engineer, your primary responsibilities will include:
- Working independently on block-level analog layout design from schematics.
- Estimating area, optimizing floorplans, and conducting routing and verifications.
- Gaining firsthand experience in critical analog layout design of blocks such as temperature sensors, SerDes, PLL, ADC, DAC, LDO, bandgap, reference generators, charge pumps, current mirrors, comparators, and differential amplifiers.
- Debugging LVS/DRC and performing verifications for lower technology nodes like 14nm FinFET and below.
- Understanding matching, EM, ESD, latch-up, shielding, parasitics, and short channel concepts.
- Utilizing EDA tools like Cadence VLE/VXL, PVS, Assura, and Calibre for physical verification.
- Understanding layout effects on circuit performance, including speed, capacitance, power, and area.
- Implementing high-quality layouts based on design constraints.
- Providing support for multiple tape-outs.
- Exhibiting strong communication and critical thinking skills to resolve technical issues professionally.
- Ensuring timely execution and high-quality layout designs.
Key Skills and Experience
To be successful in this role, candidates should possess the following skills and experience:
- A bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
- Experience in mixed-signal layout design.
- Proficiency in analog layout and familiarity with process or technology experience in TSMC nodes (7nm, 5nm, 10nm, 28nm, 45nm, 40nm).
- Hands-on experience with EDA tools such as Cadence Virtuoso L, XL, and Calibre for DRC and LVS verification.
- Strong LVS/DRC debugging skills and understanding of layout effects on circuits.
- Experience with IO layout design is a plus.
