Key Responsibilities

SEO Strategy Development

The SEO Specialist will be responsible for developing and implementing effective SEO strategies tailored to our target audience. Key tasks include:

• Conducting thorough keyword research to guide content teams in creating SEO-friendly content.
• Developing both on-page and off-page SEO strategies, including link-building initiatives.

Content Optimization

Collaboration with our content creators is vital. Your role will involve:

• Ensuring all website content is optimized for SEO best practices.
• Editing and updating website content, landing pages, and blog articles.
• Utilizing headings, meta descriptions, alt text, and other SEO elements effectively.

Technical SEO

Regular audits will be conducted to identify issues with site structure and performance. Responsibilities include:

Monitoring & Reporting

Track and analyze SEO performance metrics such as:

• Organic traffic and ranking improvements.

• Providing monthly reports to the Marketing and Administration teams with actionable insights for growth.

Competitor Analysis

Conducting competitive analyses will help identify gaps and opportunities. Your focus will be on:

• Staying updated with the latest SEO trends, algorithm changes, and best practices in the education sector.

Collaboration & Communication

Effective communication is essential. You’ll work closely with various teams, providing SEO training and best practices to:

• Internal stakeholders, including content writers and web developers.

Requirements

The ideal candidate will meet the following qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Information Technology, or a related field.
• 2+ years of proven experience as an SEO Specialist or similar role, preferably in the education or nonprofit sector.
• Strong understanding of SEO best practices, Google algorithms, and ranking factors.
• Proficiency with SEO tools such as Google Analytics, Google Search Console, SEMrush, and Ahrefs.
• Experience with website content management systems (CMS), especially WordPress.
• Strong knowledge of HTML/CSS and technical SEO principles.
• Excellent analytical skills with the ability to translate data into actionable strategies.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to explain SEO concepts to non-technical teams.
